Temple Newsam is a popular place in Leeds for family days out and for concerts in the summer. It is close to the M1 and main roads into Leeds, so is ideal for commuters or for families.

Temple Newsam is home to one of the most historic houses in this country. The Tudor Jacob mansion has over 40 rooms that have been restored and open to the public. A visit to the house, gardens and farm is a great day out for the family as there are always many events and workshops running! There is also a tearoom for refreshments!

Party in the Park and Opera in the Park are two large free events that Leeds City Council runs annually at Temple Newsam – a must for local residents to go to!

For leisure activities there is the Temple Newsam Park Golf course or why not take a walk down past the Menagerie Ponds and Woods or the Wilderness Wood?

For local schools, there is the Temple Newsam/Halton Primary School. It also is part of the Temple Newsam Colton Children's Centre that offers a range of provisions for parents and children. The Temple Moor High School is the main high school for the Colton, Crossgates and Temple Newsam areas. The school achieved a good status in the most recent OFSTED report.

For travel, Temple Newsam is on the main bus route into Leeds and is conveniently located near junction 46 on the M1 and close to the A6120, Leeds outer Ring Road. The nearest train station is Crossgates, just over one mile away.
